Please Avoid Doing This at the Blackjack Table

Please avoid this in blackjack!

Blackjack is easily one of the most popular online casino games available. It is also very popular in land based brick and mortar casinos.

Blackjack is popular because it is a pretty simple game, and because it offers the player very good odds compared to other casino games. There are a few problems with how the regular player approaches the game though.

Today we are going to cover an important one.

Please think long term

You must realize that cards are cards. They don't care who you are, they don't care who the other six people at the table are, and they really don't care if you win or lose.

Over the course of time, everything will balance.

You must not fall into the trap that so many blackjack players fall into, and that is blaming someone else at the table for "messing up the hand." Here is an example if you don't get it:

Lets say you have a King and a two and the dealer is showing a ten. The guy to the right of you has a King and a six. He makes the mistake of not hitting and you then get a ten which busts you out. The dealer flips over a two and hits a nine for a twenty one. Your mad because if the guy would of made the right play and hit, you would of then got a nine and been safe with a twenty one. Instead now your both out.

Don't blame it on him!

I realize he had a direct result on that particular hand, but in the long run it has little bearing on your actual results. If you play YOUR cards and follow YOUR strategy, that is all you need to worry about. In the long run, there is only one thing that can happen, and that is it will work out exactly how it is supposed to. If you hit on a sixteen, you are going to complete to a better hand x amount of times, and you will bust x amount of times. Over and over it will work out. What some idiot did sitting next to you will have nothing to do with it in the long run.

Please never again find yourself wanting to cuss out somebody at the blackjack table for making a "bad" move.. Most likely if you are engaging in this kind of behavior, you are a losing player. Or not break even or just a light loser at least. After all, it is very hard to be a winner at blackjack. You can be very close though.

If you are this person, then you need to wipe your mind of all your previous blackjack thought, and read some of our other articles on blackjack basic strategies. You need to completely restructure the way you look at the game.

The bottom line here is we are dealing in numbers, and numbers always work out and always do what they are supposed to do when given enough time. Now, I realize on a one night session you might bust on every single sixteen you get, but over time, you have to make the same play so that you have the best chance of winning! If this article is completely beyond you and your not understanding what I am trying to say, then read our blackjack primer on basic strategy (coming next week).
